“If we could change ourselves, the tendencies in the world would also change. As a man changes his own nature, so does the attitude of the world change towards him. … We need not wait to see what others do.” - Gandhi.
The life of a yogi and the life of a social entrepreneur share the same mission: to create change. People come to yoga for many reasons; they want to feel more connected to their body, quiet their busy mind or simply become the best version of themselves;
kinder, calmer, more whole. At a glance this pursuit may seem self-indulgent but as the yoga journey unfolds all the inner work we do begins to translate to how we live our lives off the mat.
Yoga has a lot to offer changemakers because it is practical tool kit for deepening focus, calming the mind and fueling the inner ‘fire’ to impact change without burn out. Concepts like joyfulness, flexibility and balance have as much currency on the yoga mat
as they do in the life of a changemaker. A daily yoga practise leaves one feeling clear and centred, ready to work more sustainably, creatively and productively.
I am really excited and hugely motivated to share the power of yoga with changemakers, as I have personally benefitted enormously from this ancient practise. It has helped me manage the stresses of projects, bouts of insomnia and relationship struggles.
So, I’m launching Yoga For Change, a workshop series which kicks off at the Changemakers Festival. I’ll be teaching daily classes November 4th -8th at Hub Sydney, inviting residents and local entrepreneurs to step away from the screens and take a 5 day yoga
challenge!
Whether or not you can attend classes, your support is still needed. Your contribution will help me bring the ancient wisdom of yoga to the lives of those doing the most important work in our society and there are rewards in it for you!! As little as $5 of
loose change will be a bit of good karma for you with much love and thanks from me on social media or you could grab yourself a beautiful JADE Eco Yoga Mat by chipping in at the $85+ level.
You get to help out this campaign and treat your yoga practise. (See full details of REWA
