The West River Community Project is a non-profit whose mission is to support local farms, businesses and social activities in the West River Valley. Now we are ready to move into the next phase of our existence; we are transitioning our cafe to a donation-based model. We feel this will better serve our community by providing affordable, delicious, organic food to our neighbors while still supporting small-scale local farmers and entrepreneurs!
What does that mean? We will still be offering fresh, hot breakfast and lunch daily sourced from local ingredients, but patrons will be able to decide how much they want to contribute for a meal.
We are very excited to be a part of this transformation, and we would love for you to be a part of it as well! There are many, many ways to add your support, but a simple donation to this campaign is a great way to start. The WRCP exists in order to best serve the community that lives and visits in the West River Valley, but we can't do it without your help!
Donate to our campaign by selecting a reward from the list on the right. We are so grateful for your support!
Our story: The WRCP was started 8 years ago as a non-profit to simultaneously revitalize the West Townshend Country Store and fulfill its mission of supporting local farms, economic and social activities in the West River Valley. During that time, we have had the pleasure of helping bring together a wonderful community of people for so many fantastic reasons: our weekly pizza and music nights, delicious, daily breakfasts and lunches, art exhibitions, community wood-splitting events, food and farming classes, fundraisers for local community members and businesses, our own West Townshend post office and the ever changing thrift store.
And here are some photos of some great community events we have hosted to give you a better idea of who we are! Also, please feel free to check out our facebook and instagram pages!
