We will use the funds raised on Start Some Good to launch our New Orleans Maritime Heritage Foundation as a nonprofit educational endeavor. Much of the seed money we raise will go toward our 501(c)(3) nonprofit status application and local nonprofit filing
costs.
Once we are an officially recognized nonprofit, we will be able pursue the very large funding, through sponsorships, donations, and grants, we will need to acquire Louisiana's first tall ship ambassador and sail training program and to fund the planning
and building of our interactive maritime museum facility.
The funds raised in this campaign will also pay the NOMHF's membership to Tall Ships America and send our two founding members to the 2012 Tall Ships America Conference where they will learn more about administrating and running a safe and successful tall
ship sail training/experiential maritime education program.
Some of this initial funding will go toward outreach and promotion in the form of brochures, business cards, web presence and several 'New Orleans' styled outreach and fundraising events.
