About This Project
This is Claire's story *. Claire is a single mum whose son is in primary school. Claire hasn’t worked since she was in a car crash in 2018. Trying to deal with the ongoing pain, not having a job, and trying to be a good parent and provide for her son has seen her sink into depression and she sometimes still has panic attacks when she is driving.
Because she can’t afford after school care, Claire can only work during school hours. She has struggled to find an employer who can offer just a few hours a day.
Restore Social Enterprises Inc. exists for people like Claire. When our furniture restoration workshop opens in Moreton Bay Region, Restore will have an opportunity to employ Claire for 3 hours a day during school hours, doing tasks that don’t aggravate her back injury and teaching her skills that will help her build a new career. We will teach her life skills, help her with her budgeting and give her a safe space to re-enter the workforce - all whilst earning an award wage.
Having a job will change her life and her son’s life. It will give them hope for the future, restore her dignity by providing meaningful work and enable independence and a better life for Claire and her son.
The support you provide will help us restore hope, dignity and independence for Claire.

Use Of Funds
$7,000 Tipping Point Goal
We need to create the workspaces that will allow us to employ Claire and others like her. We have a vacant block of land and we’re ready to repurpose some shipping containers to build a furniture restoration workshop and retail outlet. Once these workspaces are funded and built, we can employ our first employees. Our goal is to employ 100 people with disabilities or other significant barriers to employment in our first 3 years.
Here's how your donation will create a workspace for Claire and 99 others:
$7,000 will pay for a concrete slab -> the foundation of our new premises (this is the bare minimum we need to raise!)
$15,000 will pay for a concrete slab + one 40ft shipping container -> the first workspace space needed to create jobs.
We will acknowledge every donation of $20 and above by featuring the giver on our Foundation Wall. Your "brick" for your donation will be part of a wall of printed bricks when we open our workshop, showing the support that has been given for this project.
$23,000 Stretch Goal
$23,000 will pay for a concrete slab + two 40ft shipping containers -> allowing us to expand with lunchroom, training room and office space.
If we can go even further:
$33,000 will pay for the concrete slab + two 40ft shipping containers + a roof between the containers -> this will give us an all-weather workspace.

The slab is funded !
Thank you, thank you, thank you - with your amazing support we've reached our first goal of $7,000. This gives us enough money to lay the concrete slab on our leased land.
Our next goal is a lofty one -> $15,000 - which will get us the slab and a 40ft container.
But even if we don't reach $15k, every $40 we raise over the initial $7k means we can lease a container for a week. The more $40's we get, the longer we can afford to lease.
If you know anyone who might be able to support us, now is the time to give them a friendly nudge :)
Thank you again for your kindness and generosity.

Thank you for your generous support
Wow - we can't believe we are already 82% of the way towards our initial goal ! Thank you so much for investing in our vision.
Once we reach $7,000 we know we've got funding to put down a concrete slab. Whilst that's not a particularly exciting activity or photo opportunity on its own - it's all about what it represents. It is literally the foundation that will enable us to create jobs for people with disabilities or other significant barriers to employment.
Thank you for getting on board early in our campaign and for helping us restore hope, dignity and independence for the people who need it most.
