Thank you so much for visiting and considering our cause. We are a group of dedicated education professionals who are frustrated by our current education system’s lack of attention to schools in low-income communities.
We want to help eliminate poverty by making sure that kids and families have access to poverty-fighting resources.
We want to launch Connective Possibilities (CP) to connect kids and families to poverty-fighting support. You can change the entire life path of a family when a kid gets connected to an effective resources.
Rather than meet with foundations and philanthropists, we felt that it would be a strong symbol of community solidarity if we first reached out to our friends, family, former students and colleagues. If CP is truly meant to create
the connective tissue in our low-income communities, we need to prove that our connective tissue — our network — supports the idea. We believe you do, and also believe that
together we can raise the first $5,500 that launches this little idea into a GIGANTIC movement! This StartSomeGood campaign is our very first step at raising a ton of money, and our goal is to raise about $200,000 by mid-2012.
Asking friends and family for money is tough, especially in this economy. So
why should you support us? Ideally, you're sold on the philosophy behind this new initiative. Or perhaps you realize that because there are so many more kids and families struggling through the recession, there’s a greater need for this kind
of service. Maybe you're excited about being on the ground level of an exciting movement. Or perhaps you believe in our leadership, passion and drive to make some positive change in this world.
Regardless, we hope you can support us. Any amount would be hugely helpful, and we promise that we'll make your $25 bucks go a long way!
Every little bit helps.
We hope you can support our growing movement to help families fight poverty and transform our nation's schools.
About Connective Possibilities
Connective Possibilities (working title) aims to build the connective tissue between schools and the community. The vision is to create a human-centered platform in low-income communities that will help to transform schools from the
ground level, rather than from the top-down. CP's first step will be to place a "one-stop shop" for all support services, nonprofits, and resources that can help kids and families overcome poverty. The resource desks will be staffed by passionate and trained
college student volunteers in low-income schools who will connect families to resources that can alleviate poverty-related issues
