Over the years we’ve been working at ESK to support various causes and charities in need and this year we have begun focusing our energies as students, teachers and administrators on supporting a local institution which thousands of us drive silently by each and every day without recognition of the valuable work that goes on within. The Kyrenia Rehabilitation Centre (Cheshire Home) serves individuals and families in the area who are physically and or otherwise challenged, collecting them from their homes and providing them with the opportunity to socialize and carry out therapeutic activities at the centre. For families otherwise responsible for day-to-day care the work of the centre often provides invaluable relief.
The centre has been doing an amazing job, largely through voluntary support and donations since its establishment in 1986. However, the Centre is now struggling to cope with growing numbers of persons in need living in the district, rising costs and limited grants. Aside from fundraising, our students and staff have been involved this year in painting, cleaning, repairing and entertaining, Yet, with the proper resources and infrastructure there is so much more that the Centre could be doing, still more that less fortunate people in our area require.
Among the urgent logistical needs that have been identified and which we have been informed of is the need for a new computer and associated materials. Hence my personal appeal on this page to you for whatever you can contribute to help those who are helping and provide a better service, care and support to those in need. Anything and all that you can contribute will be much appreciated. The sum raised will be donated in full.
Thank You.
