About This Project


Arches Education Center, in conjunction with the Moab Valley Multicultural Center, provides GED prep and ESOL classes within Grand County. We have seen a tremendous need in
the Green River area, even though it lies within Emery County. Green River does not provide these opportunities to their population and these individuals are forced to commute 52 miles to the nearest adult education facility, here in Moab.


The project will provide both GED preparation and ESOL classes to the Green River and Thompson Springs communities once a week throughout the late falls, winter and early
spring. We have found these times to be the most conducive to client participation.
It is our goal to provide these courses once a week for approximately 16 weeks.
To ensure accessibility, classes will be offered for only $1 per class. Arches Education does not discriminate based on race, color national origin, sex or disabilities.
By providing these services, we hope to expand the scope of adult education within the region.

Use Of Funds

$600 Tipping Point Goal

If we reach our tipping point goal of $600, we will be able to cover our testing materials and a portion of our transportation costs.


If we reach our total goal of $1100, we will be able to cover all of our testing materials and transportation costs.


 



Funds will be used for transportation to Green River from Moab, UT (104 miles/trip) for weekly classes. 15 trips to Green River (104 miles/trip/.51 cents per mile – IRA Standard
Mileage) is approximate $795.60. GED and BEST testing materials will also be purchased, for a total of $62.50. Lastly, the funding will help pay for advertising fees, donor rewards and site fees.
