Ecorasmus
is an initiative for and by youth from different countries who are interested in the ecovillage movement. It promotes networking between and within European communities, non-formal learning, and intercultural and intergenerational
dialogue through the creation of a youth exchange. It aims to create a sense of participation, inclusion and collaboration amongst young people involved in communal projects and eco-communities. It strives to frame the role youth play in intentional communities
and to encourage the inclusion of young people through shared living experiences.
I always knew my passion was with nature, but have discovered my love for people on this path as well. I am currently living and working alongside the Global Ecovillage Network in an Ecovillage called Findhorn and see these villages as the future. They provide
all the needs to sustain a human being and the planet. I am passionate about them because I think they can improve the lives of the people and the state of the Earth. Also, one day I want to live this way, close to nature and my fellow human beings.
I believe in this project and think that it is important to sustain these villages long-term. These villages are where problems of society are addressed and solved, and brought into a space where they can be tried and reformed. Youth in these villages bring
a vitalising energy and new ideas which keep the water of transformation flowing. If they do not stay, the communities become more stagnant, and may do less to test and invoke change.
Currently, we don't know why the youth aren't staying. We intend to find out. By supporting this campaign, you can help us to discover the role of youth, and give these communities this knowledge. You can help the continual strive for sustainability in communities,
making sure they will last and that youth will continue to have a place in these communities. By contributing to this project you will give communities a chance to better understand and support their youth. Also by doing this, you will be supporting sustainability
and intentional communities as well, allowing the young energy to flow through and continue their process of social, ecological, economical and cultural regeneration.
