Hi! We’re Rebecca and Tiffany!
A couple of years ago, we brought a few bins of fabric to Figment, a local participatory arts festival, and could not believe the response we received. It seemed like everyone wanted a tutu. We ran out of all of our fabric before the day was over. The
following year, we personally financed the purchase of over sixteen thousand yards fabric strips, that’s a lot of tutus! And by the end of the event, it was all gone!
All ages and genders swarmed the booth creating tutus, arm bands, and mohawks in designs we had never dreamed of. We loved watching the grinning faces of people as they put down their cell phones and picked up handfuls of tulle. The fact that our participants
create the tutus all by themselves is just as important as the finished products. We feel that this project helps to create a world that is a little less self conscious, a little bit more creative, and quite a bit more colorful.
It takes at least fifty bolts to supply a two day event, and at ten dollars a bolt plus other supplies that’s why we need your help. Your donation supports the purchase of the fabric and elastic that goes directly into your tutu! We can’t wait to see what
you make at our next event!
