Our Inspired Reason - Why Are We Doing This?
Today our tiny planet is facing greater environmental challenges than ever.
We’re aware of the destruction of natural habitats and yet we continue to make daily choices that negatively affect the environment that we all depend on. But for us to take meaningful action, we need to start taking steps to change behaviour.
Our mission is to help everyone take personal responsibility for the planet, and to empower each and every one of us to make a positive difference.
Our team has worked hard to plan and prototype TODAY as a way to help us achieve our collective goals. To deliver a platform that can empower an entire generation to stand up for what's right, by looking after the earth and living consciously and sustainably. And we're asking for your help to raise money and to grow this awesome community, because it takes a movement to bring great ideas to life.
Building an app is a big job, which is why our funding goals are $40,000 for the Beta version and $100,000 for a more fully featured version of the App. However the more support and funding we're able to raise in this incredible platform, the further we'll be able to go.
A Personal Introduction - Who's Behind The Project?
My name is Seb Berry, and I’m the founder of TODAY - a team from Sydney dedicated to delivering real improvement to people & planet, so that we can create a brighter future for all.
The TODAY Initiative started with a problem... Right now, we face staggering challenges to humanity, the environment - and all life on this small, blue planet. However, most of us have made very little change to our lifestyles to address these challenges.
I wondered why…
And then I took a good hard look at myself...
What I realised is that individually, people feel like "What difference do I make?" and look elsewhere for the solution - even though the most powerful influencer is through our collective actions. And we're also disconnected from the big issues because they don't affect our day-to-day lives.
So, we set out to build something that would engage, excite, motivate, connect and empower everyone on this planet to take positive, collective and collaborative action for a brighter future.
What Makes The TODAY App Special?
The TODAY App is the first of it’s kind. A platform for collective action on social and environmental issues, reinventing the way people contribute to the causes and issues that they believe in.
TODAY is putting the power in the hands of every single person on this planet to make a difference. TODAY is for people who care about making a difference, and want a better world.
We're creating TODAY so that everyone can take action, and the choice is ours to make.
We are 7.5 billion people and growing, and we want TODAY to give every one of them a voice that can shape the world for good; a way to make a positive impact together; a tangible reason to change the small things that have the power to change everything.
Use Of Funds - What Will We Do With The Money Raised?
We need your help with $40,000 to develop the first version of the mobile app for release on iOS to our loyal community. We have the prototype designs, but these need to be finalised and then developed to bring TODAY to life.
So far we've put around 2,000 hours into concept development, prototyping, design and testing - and spent over $20,000 on the project.
We’re taking on the challenge of bringing this to life and making TODAY into something everyone will want to use!
One Small Thing Today for a Better Tomorrow
We’re doing this because we believe that there IS a choice. To decide whether we look at what we’re doing and figure out how collectively we can take a sustainable alternative. Or whether we carry on with our own lives and let the forces of nature decide for us.
