WHO WE ARE
Taking Pictures, Changing Lives are a growing global team of photographers, writers and filmmakers, founded ten years ago by photographer Adam Dickens. We help charities raise awareness and funds for their life-changing work.
PLANS FOR 2019
- Enable our photographers in Africa to make as many trips as possible.
- Create opportunities for new photographers, writers and filmmakers to work with us.
- Send Adam to visit 8 charities working in Africa, Asia and South America to capture images that showcase their life-changing work.
- Provide a secure future for Taking Pictures, Changing Lives so that we can employ more people to keep creating fundraising material for small charities around the world.
WHO WE ARE HELPING
The charities that we work with help restore dignity and hope to people in many different ways, such as...
- Teaching business skills to people who haven't had access to education.
- Empowering farmers to use sustainable methods to grow their crops and also look after the environment around them.
- Providing access to safe sanitation and affordable healthcare.
- Engaging children and youth in literacy schemes, opening up the potential of a better future.
We are increasingly working with photographers around the world to visit charities in their own countries for many reasons:
- We are helping to provide work for talented photographers
- The money they earn is benefitting the local community
- Building their skills and confidence, increasing their employability
- Our crowdfunding money can go further as the distances they travel are shorter
