STEEPED IN MEANING
For many people around the world, a cup of tea (or a ‘cuppa’ as they say Down Under) is the perfect way to find solace and comfort; to take a break from a busy day or simply enjoy the warmth and nourishment of
tea. In a similar way, many people turn to creative arts as a means of catharsis. Whether it’s watercolour painting, pen doodles, dance or writing, there’s so much to be said about the positive affects the arts bring to our
lives - ways of de-stressing, staying active, expressing ourselves, methods for learning about our own experiences, etc. I’ve designed an innovative method of therapeutic practice using these two comforting and explorative modalities - tea and art. I’m really
excited to launch my business Steeped In Meaning: Tea Ceremony and Therapeutic Arts Practice, and I need to your help! I'm launching this campaign in order to be able to:
a) finish university and gain accredited recognition in the therapeutic & allied health community, and
b) gain practical experience working in Nepal with Art To Healing, an organisation providing psychological first aid, trauma recovery workshops and expressive arts therapies for sex-trafficked women and children who have been impacted by
the earthquakes in May.
What People are saying about Steeped In Meaning:
"Tea ceremony with Lindsey was a blissful and meaningful experience. Time stopped, I had visions and insights; I enjoyed being mindful of the sounds, the taste of the tea, my breath, and body. I have delved deep into my inner world. She
holds space in such a peaceful, loving and sacred way, which allowed that magic to take place. I highly recommend it!” - Dominique, Reiki and Massage Therapist
YOUR INVOLVEMENT:
I’m really excited to bring a holistic arts therapy practice with a focus in trauma recovery to my local community, and I need your support in getting it off the ground. Finances aren’t the only way you can support me, sharing my campaign on social media,
telling your friends and family, interviewing me for your radio show, writing an article about my campaign for your newsletter/paper/magazine are also important ways you can be involved.

HOW YOU CAN HELP:
I need to pay off my university fees (I’m not eligible for government grants/loans here in Australia), and also pay for flights to Nepal to provide Psychological First Aid and Trauma Recovery workshops to families rebuilding their lives after the May earthquakes.
Firstly, I need $3500 in order to pay off the previous semester of university, but my
tipping point is $2000 which will allow me to apply for my final semester which starts 21st August.
Secondly, I need $1000 for flights to Nepal with Art To Healing - an organisation that uses art therapy, meditation and yoga to provide trauma recovery for women and children that have been sex trafficked in Nepal, Laos, Thailand and Cambodia. www.theart2healingproject.org.au
My ultimate goal is to have this entire year of university paid off and flights for Nepal, so that means an additional $3500 for uni, making it a
grand total of $8000.
