Soksabike are expanding their social enterprise to include travel tours on solar powered tuk-tuks. The program aims to contribute to the empowerment of local businesses in Battambang by running ethical tours that provide
rewarding experiences for discerning travellers.
WHO WE ARE
The social enterprise,
Soksabike, is a well-established and highly rated bicycle tour operator in Cambodia. Soksabike has been connecting visitors with the Cambodian countryside and its people since 2009 through tours that give tourists the opportunity to visit and interact with
the local communities. The intimacy of this type of travel has helped establish a deeper connection between tourists and local Cambodian families.
WHAT WE WANT TO ACHIEVE
Soksabike is aiming to be the first 100% solar-electric tour provider in Cambodia with the help of solar-powered tuk-tuks.
The tuk-tuk tours aim to improve the welfare and livelihoods of the local community by supporting the Battambang local economy and the human and natural environment as a whole.
To achieve this Soksabike will ensure that our operational objectives are based on social, economic and environmental sustainable principles.

Employment
Without local employment opportunities young people are often forced to find work abroad, in dangerous and exploitive industries away from their homes and families. Sosabike employ local youth that are pursuing or intending to pursue further education.
In providing a steady source of employment and income for students, Soksabike is aiming to maintain access to education and address long-term retention rates in university.
Training
Soksabike equip employees with training in English proficiency and financial literacy, and general skills, such as team working and communication. These transferable skills allow them to provide a professional and high-quality service as well as improve their
future employment prospects.
Living Standards
Soksabike tours advice tourists on how they could help to reduce adverse environmental impact and support the local economy of the places they are visiting. Soksabike visit local business and industries and support those who need economic stimulation most. Local
businesses that are supported include family-owned rice noodle and rice wine micro-enterprises as well as local ceramic workshops.
