Youth Unemployment
If you’ve ever experienced unemployment in your life, you’d understand the feelings of helplessness, self-doubt and fear that accompany that situation. Unfortunately, there are more than 250,000 young people in Australia aged 15
to 24 who are currently stuck in this challenging position.
We believe that every young person should have the opportunity to reach their fullest potential, and those who can't afford university, or don't have hands-on work skills and experience shouldn't be excluded. We all have to start
somewhere and it shouldn't be that hard!
As the Founders of Social Pops, we see a bite sized opportunity to encourage a shift in the typical business models found in Australia. Our plan is to create a long term solution to youth unemployment through our affordable micro-franchise
model.
By combining all natural gourmet pops with a social
conscience, we hope to melt barriers for youth and provide a platform of supported training, entry level employment and ultimately micro-franchise business ownership opportunities through the purchase of pop bikes.
Year of the Pops
In 2015 Social Pops will be running a pilot project to test our flavours, the pop bike, our systems, and build on relationships with council and other collaborators.
Our eye-catching and environmentally friendly pop bike can hold up to 150kg (a whole lot of pops) ready for a variety of markets, events, private functions and other hot spots near you.
We are reaching out to local farmers to use local produce (where possible), and we’ve made sure that no fruit or vegetable is left feeling unwanted by specifically asking for produce that may not pass the routine beauty check for
supermarket shelves.
