We need your help to bring Social Entrepreneur to the radio
After 150 episodes, we’re at an exciting tipping point with the podcast Social Entrepreneur. We have the opportunity to produce a weekly, one-hour, drive-time radio program. But we need to move fast. And we need your backing to get there.
Every week Social Entrepreneur shares stories of changemakers, ordinary people like you, who make a difference in our communities and in the world. The radio show will allow us to reach tens of thousands more listeners.
More stories = more social good.
Stories move us. They take us out of our logical brains and help us to connect with one another.
- When people hear stories of social good, they are engaged, informed and inspired.
- Because social entrepreneurs are everyday people like you and me, when listeners hear their stories, they see themselves as possible changemakers too.
- The stories inspire people to take action. Listeners are more inclined to give time, talent, and treasure to help a cause. Or, they take the leap and become changemakers themselves.
- The circle expands and encourages more social good and more stories that need to be told.
The world is a better place when social entrepreneurs have the opportunity to tell their story.
How We Scale Our Social Good
Every week, the Social Entrepreneur podcast features social entrepreneurs who recount their struggles, their successes and what they have learned along the way.
It is already successful with more than 150 episodes, downloaded over 100,000 times in 170 countries. We have ranked #1 in FOUR New & Noteworthy categories on iTunes.
So, if things are going so well, what's changing?
Broadcast + Podcast = Prodcast?
At Social Entrepreneur, we're at an exciting inflection point. We've been approached by a radio station to create a show to air from 7 AM to 8 AM on Mondays, just as people are heading to work. It's exciting. A one-hour, weekly program that is all about social entrepreneurship - and you can be part of making it a reality.
Why Radio?
There are several benefits to a radio program:
- The first benefit is throughput. Our goal is to double the amount of changemaker stories that air each week.
- Social entrepreneurs will have instant access to tens of thousands of additional listeners. The show will also be added to the radio station’s live stream which includes another 25,000 listeners
- When we achieve success with the Monday morning drive-time show, the radio station has already discussed the possibility of increasing the show to five days per week. That's at least ten stories of social good every week.
- When we prove this business model, our vision is to syndicate the broadcast to many more radio stations.
Big Dreams Require a Team
The addition of the radio show will increase the number of listeners by tens of thousands. To capitalize on this opportunity we will require a team and some upfront costs. We need administrative assistance and audio production assistance to make this happen.
I like what Michael Hyatt says.
“If your dream does not require a team, you’re not dreaming big enough.”
This is a big dream. It will require a small team to start with. We need your backing to make that happen.
Rewards
How helpful would it be to have 150 leading social entrepreneurs standing in a line, waiting to give you their best advice? And, what if each person's advice was limited to 24 seconds or less? Would you be interested to know what they would have to say?
That's the idea behind my brand new book, Crazy Good Advice: 10 Lessons Learned from 150 Leading Social Entrepreneurs. This early edition of this book is hot off of the presses. And it is only available through this StartSomeGood campaign.
The book is illustrated with fun, original drawings by my wife, Lynn Bousquet. There are over 25 illustrations throughout the book. The Kindle and ePub versions are available in the Digital Download Pack.
If you want to go old-school, you can grab the paperback, or pick up two copies - one to share with a friend.
But Wait! There's More!
There are plenty more rewards to choose from. You can hang out with me in the studio, or be my co-host for an episode.
Lynn will hand-draw in your copy of the book and I'll sign it.
You can have your name added to the acknowledgment page or have the entire book dedicated to you.
You can choose a 30-minute one-on-one mentoring call with me, or you can sign up for a package of twelve mentoring calls (this one is a massive bargain).
You and a friend can come to my house for pizza or you can hang out with me in the studio.
You can even co-host with me on an episode of the podcast.
These are amazing rewards. I want to sign up for some of them myself!
So, choose your rewards. No matter what level you select, you'll have my undying gratitude.
