Why am I doing this and why should you?
My goal is to donate $1500 to give one Nepalese at-risk girl a public education or $3000 to help two girls. I want to raise money money and give it to The Little Sister's Fund which has been resucing and educating girls in Nepal since 1998.
I recently met with the founder of The Little Sisters Fund and he told me about his inspiration to start the organization and how he was given the gift of education as a child. Then I met two Nepalese girls who had been sponsored by The Little Sisters Fund.
These girls had been working in Nepal since they were really little. One was an orphan and had been a child slave. They are now the first two girls attending University in the US and are very inspiring. The Little Sisters Fund (littlesistersfund.org)
is currently educating over 1300 girls. These girls are in school rather than working in brick kilns, homes, or other types of slavery that they have been sold into for $15. Providing them an education allows them to make money and also encourages them to
help others who need an education. Girls educations are not as valued as boys in Nepal. Without this education these girls will be married and having kids by 16 and their kids may also have to be slaves because the moms won't be able to support them. I want
to give these girls the gift of education and empower them to change their lives and those of their families and I hope you do too!
