Recently, the tsunami and Eathquake in Palu, Indonesia has caused some devastating results. Many of the children were left orphaned as their parents are nowhere to be found or dead. As a first hand witness to all this, we were in Palu for 10 days. At Palu, I have never come as close to smelling and seeing the dead and the death of thousands of people happening in front of me. The smell was unforgettable, the sight of it still remains in my mind.
Yet, my heart was filled with compassion for the little children who has lost their hope, family and dreams. Children who have to fend for themselves, now. We heard, we saw, we went, we answered, we felt the disastrous quake, the hopelessness of this city, we prayed, we covered, we served, we fought against the principalities and the spirit of death, we interceded. But one thing I know was that the damage was huge, and it would take years to rebuild it. And now for the people of Palu, the scars that they have now, will be their story to tell. It is time we rewrite the story of how whatever the devil meant for evil, God will turn it around for good. It is time we rewrite their stories.
And this is what we are gonna do, it's all according to the verse Matthew 25:35-36 35 For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink, I was a stranger and you invited me in, 36 I needed clothes and you clothed me, I was sick and you looked after me, I was in prison and you came to visit me.’
- People don't care what you know, until they know that you care. We want to provide food and clean water for the children to have, to eat and drink.
- There were houses that were broken, and we want to provide housing for the children. We want to spread out our arms and invite them in, allowing children to be children again. Those laughter and love that was robbed off, we want children to be children again.
- We want children to have proper clothes, and proper water to keep themselves clean.
- Education is the way out of poverty. We want to teach children to study, but more importantly the way of the Lord. Train a child the way he should go, and when he is old, he will not depart from it.
Now, it's the time, we rise up and help them rewrite their stories. Children they are the leaders of tomorrow.
