WHO AM I?
My name is Rachel Crane and I am 15 years old. I have a keen interest in the environment and want to make our world a better place.
WHAT IS THE PROBLEM?
We growing up in a world that we are destroying. Plastic is killing our beautiful world and we are the only ones to blame.
As of October 2018 over 1 million seabirds die each year because of plastic. 52% of the worlds sea turtles have eaten plastic and unfortunately the South East Coast of Australia is labelled the most dangerous place for these magnificent creatures. For 22% of turtles digesting just one piece of plastic is deadly. 95% of plastic packaging is discarded after one use. Recycle Case believes in a world where Australia is single use plastic free and we need your help to achieve this.
WHAT ARE WE DOING?
Recycle Case will be using 3 machines to turn plastic pollution such as plastic bottles and straws into phone cases. A shredder which will shred the plastic into smaller pieces, an extruder which will melt and coil the plastic into 3D printing filament. And a 3D printer which will turn the 3D printing filament into phone cases. 10% of the sales from each case will be going to Take 3. Take 3 is a global organisation know for their campaign Take3forthesea and specialises in beach clean ups.
HOW CAN YOU HELP?
By donating to Recycle Case you will be helping the world become a cleaner, safer and more sustainable place.
