Our Home is an orphanage and school for children who have been victims of deprivation, exploitation and neglect.
Your donation will assist us in purchasing an adequate supply of necesseties for bedding and to personal hygiene products.
Despite the best efforts of the volunteers at Our Home, many children currently sleep on bare mattresses with makeshift pillows. Inevitably, they are not getting a good night's sleep, so it follows that they do not have the best
start to their school day.
On top of this, they do not have appropriate supplies of the products they need to maintain their hygiene. They lack products like soap, shampoo, conditioner, toothbrushes, toothpaste and detergent. This makes the children in our
care more susceptible to contracting illnesses and infections.
Rudimentary bedding and toiletry supplies are something that most of us take for granted. Myself and my fellow volunteer were motivated to start this campaign by the belief that each and every child has the right to these necessities.
A BETTER FUTURE STARTS WITH A FEW RIPPLES!
We believe that without these essentials, the chances for the students at Our Home to improve their equal access to better opportunities will be severely inhibited.
We are reaching out to a diverse range of actors like NGOs, personal contacts and private enterprises through a variety of social networking mediums. We have also been in contact with both local and international publications to
gain further material and financial support for our cause.
OUR HOME HAS A VISION FOR A FUTURE WITHOUT AID!
To reduce our heavy reliance on donations and increase our self-sufficiency, Our Home is intending to start several small businesses in the area. The first of these is a laundry, which will be opening by April 2014.
However, we urgently require donations until this business is fully operational for basic items that are essential for enhacing the quality of life for the children in our care.
