When the worst case scenario actually happens, would you want someone to hold your hand and help you navigate through the insurance claim process? Someone who's been there before and knows what's going to happen next?
Yes? That's what we thought :)
We're heading up to the bushfire affected areas of NSW to answer questions great & small, and connecting victims with local insurance professionals who have volunteered to help on an ongoing basis.
For the people who've lost everything their claims will go on for months if not more. So, we've got professionals who are happy to help long after the fires are out. By help, I mean explain the difference between rectification and cash settlement, what removal
of debris means, what's an additional benefit, what's a sub-limit, etc.
Now, it's one thing to decide to help and it's another thing entirely to reach people who need it! So to get the message out about our pro-bono insurance advice we're giving away
custom designed water bottles distributed via local businesses and community organisations.
The local media and businesses owners are going to help get the message out there, but any funds raised via this campaign will go towards distributing information to affected victims who have an insurance claim. They may not require assistance right now,
but in a few weeks, a few months, that's when the question start and that's when we'll be there to help.
$2,000 Tipping Point Goal
Tipping Point
It's all about the water. This is two weeks on from the main event so it's not meant to be life saving stuff, it's a promotional tool that's just that little bit unique so as to be noticed.
If I can get most of the water costs paid for then the project will be a real goer.
Total Funding Goal
I am prepared to sleep in my car if it comes down to it, but it would be nice to have running water and a bed.
Then there's food costs and petrol and all the rest... ordinarily these would be business expenses however expenses on a business that's breaking even means it goes into the red... Get Informed's not even a year old, as most of you will understand it's still
learning to walk.
This is also why I'm still working weeknights and weekends so I can afford to eat and pay rent in my personal life, I'm not an employee of my own company. By taking time off work I'm just racking up the credit card debt some more so if I don't have to do
that, it would be nice.
Most of the things like additional graphic design costs and modifications to the website, I wouldn't ask for your help with normally, but this is time sensitive. We need to help people NOW so they don't have to worry about where they're going to sleep for
the next few months. They can't wait for more brokers to subscribe to Get Informed.
If you can help me achieve this, it's going to result in more people feeling positive about paying insurance premiums because they'll understand how their policy will respond when it counts. That's the bottom line.
P.S. If you haven't seen it already this is my take on What's a Broker
