Our Story
We’re Christina and Alan, cofounders at Altina Drinks. Our story starts back in 2017, when we were both working as consultants. Our favourite activity was discovering and enjoying a good bottle of wine (or two).
This caught up with us, and took a toll on our physical and mental health. We stopped drinking and felt the full force of the aussie drinking culture. We started to talk to people about what we were experiencing – and found we weren’t alone. The idea for Altina was born.
As the PhD trained scientist behind Altina’s unique drinks, I took a completely different approach to manufacturing drinks. By combining the latest in green chemistry with the highest quality ingredients, we create botanically built non alcoholic drinks that build in complexity as you sip – but you probably know this already!
Since 2018, our aim has been to inspire Australians to live life without the negative aspects of alcohol. Our vision is a world where no one feels out of place for choosing not to drink. Where people can enjoy the experience of drinking something delicious, complex and healthy.
The Project
The next step for us in this vision is to expand our range of drinks from bubbles into still botanically built wine. This presents a whole new set of technical and manufacturing challenges for us and has never been done by anyone before. We’ll start with a still white wine to prove our approach, technology and manufacturing process, and grow the range from there.
Bringing any new product to market is a costly exercise – costing upwards of $50k and generally takes many months or even years. As a small family run business, we just don’t have the cash to do the development and a first small manufacturing run of this innovative new product. That’s where you come in! We’re asking you to join us on this journey as we develop, test and bring to market our very first still botanically built non alc wine.

You’ll be able to sample our first batch and let us know directly what you think before we scale it up to commercial production.
All the funds raised to meet our goal will go directly to development and manufacturing activities. And if we reach to our stretch goal, we’ll be able to extend our project to include the design and upfront materials needed to create the new labels and collateral to help us bring the product to market even sooner – so you can start enjoying and others can start discovering the benefits of cutting down on their alcohol intake.
