Our mission is to showcase regional stories of people who started with a business idea and then overcame all the obsctacles to successfully launch their businesses. Our focus is people making a positive impact in their communities.
Our Project
We will produce webisodes that showcase people who have the courage to convert their creative ideas into profitable ventures for the betterment of their local communities. These stories will provide the basis for a global mentorship, and through our shared
learning collaborate to make your dreams a reality.
My Story
Growing up, I discovered that my greatest gift was to be a connector – to be the one that acknowledged and welcomed others. This gift was born from my deepest pain of feeling invisible and not being liked. As the only Indian kid in my all-American classes
(and we moved around a lot!), my philosophy was to make friends before lunch or eat alone. I learned the importance of having an advocate the hard way.
After graduating with my MBA in Sustainable Business from the Bainbridge Graduate Institute, I affirmed what I always knew to be true – that all of us have creativity, passion and inspiration within us – we only need the right encouragement and support in
order to thrive.
Having run my own business for the past nine years, I have learned first-hand that building strong relationships is the most powerful currency.
My vision and my passion unite in MONAvation Nation – a hub for people to connect to fellow change-makers in order to realize their dreams.
I want to help bridge the gap of disconnectedness in our hyper-connected world.
Are you ready for your passport to the MONAvation Nation?
$2,000 Tipping Point Goal
TIPPING POINT GOAL - $2,000
The tipping point amount is the cost of tuition for
Kick. It is a requirement of the program that the $2,000 entry fee MUST be crowd-funded from
at least ten different supporters. Kick provides the mentorship, support and connections we need to help take this idea to the next level.
ULTIMATE FUNDING GOAL - $25,000
We are looking to raise $25,000 to help produce the pilot episode and the 1st season of shows that will be focused on people who are changing the paradigms i their local communities.
I am very excited to announce that award winning environmental filmmaker Trip Jennings has signed on to the project:
http://www.balancemedia.tv/projects/trip-jennings-production-reel/
Any funds beyond the tipping point will be used for production costs which include rental of film equipment, lighting, transportation, sound engineering, editing and other related costs. A total of ten 2-5 minute webisodes will make up the first season of
shows.
To kick off the series, the pilot episode featuring Blake Van Roekel of Good Keuken and Tray Satterfield of Old Salt Marketplace will be shot on location in Portland, OR on June 29th, 2013. Each episode will feature Bad Ass People Doing Kick-Ass Shit regionally.
Following episodes will feature stories in Seattle/WA region.
Stockbox Grocers - Founders Carrie Ferrence and Jacqueline Gjurgevich are building a network of stores that are the hub for fresh food, community connections, engaging experiences, and
innovation in grocery. They are in the process of opening their 2nd store on 1st Hill in Seattle.
Starvation Alley Farms - Jessika Tantisook and Jared Oakes, who are pioneering the 1st organic cranberry farm in the state of Washington.
Lazy R Ranch - The cattle ranch, which is located outside of Spokane, WA has been using the principles of Holistic Management since 1996. The ranch has been owned
and operated by the Robinette family for three generations and counting!
We have plans to tell stories regionally in NYC, LA, Detriot, and beyond. We would also appreciate hearing from you and the people you know that are doing great things in their communities.
Who in your community would you like to see showcased next?
