Rural children lack the necessary information they need to make decisions that pertains to their growth and development. Rural children do not normally know their rights as well as their their roles in the home and community. This makes it very difficult
for them to know how they can improve their own well-being and that of their communities. The program will bring over 200 rural school children through a 3-day camping to receive training and mentorship. The program will educate the kids on their rights, mentor
them on their future goals, enlighten them on their roles in their community's development as well as provide them with much information on sex issues. The topics to be dealt with include the importance of education, achieving Goals, Sex Education, the Role
of the Youth in Community Development and many others. The program will also provide the rural school children mentors from whom they can seek continued support to help them make decisions and fight for their rights as when is is needed.
The camping will be done within the Yonso Community and each community will be given a quota of students to represent them who will in turn serve as peer educators when the children return to their communities. The program is for students between the ages
of 10-18 and there will be different sections for age group categories. The resource persons will come from diverse backgrounds. They are from the academia, business and services sector.
