About Love William
Each morning when my four year old son and I are on our way to his kindergarten, we get into deep discussions about all sorts of things. Like how your heart pumps blood around your body and whether a crocodile can climb a tree.
One morning Will was wearing a new Spider-Man t-shirt that he was very proud of, he wanted to know how it was made. We went through the whole process from growing cotton, making cloth, cutting patterns to printing the picture on it. When we came to the end
I said that not all children got lovely new clothes like this, that some children had to wear small clothes, old clothes or dirty clothes.
There was a short silence as Will contemplated this and devised a solution. "I know," he said. "We can get t-shirts for all the poor kids." And so this little quest began. Will has a great love of drawing so we thought it would make it extra special if we
put one of his drawings on the t-shirts.
It wasn't hard to find who to start giving the t-shirts to. Our dear friend Trish Franklin has lived and worked in Vietnam for many years with many of the poorest families in the Ho Chi Minh City vicinity. We would love to start by making 50 t-shirts for
some of these kids.
Any additional funds raised will go towards making extra t-shirts and other necessities for these children. This is not a commercial project, it is simply a way for kids to show that they care for other kids.
You can share our campaign over social media using the share buttons, blogging about the project or writing an email to all your friends and family. We'd love for you to be part of the journey.
