The concept
Picture if you will an archetype of the Knights of old.
" Gentle & brave - gallant & bold."
As the father of a 2 year old I look around & wonder how to counteract the barrage of selfish me-first minds out there.
"I'd really like to make kindness cool ....."
In every culture there are tales of such people of whom for various reasons unite under a common banner. The characters in such tales are still however, absolute individuals providing the reader a personal favourite that they can relate to.
Prime examples would be The Musketeers.
A more modern take would be for example the Ninja Turtles or Power Rangers, less uniform but still relevant would be Buffy & Co or team Arrow.
What binds the characters together is the willingness to strive to be better for the benefit of others.
I invite you to become a Knight Of Lenity …..
Lenity means gentle or kind - to be lenient.
I would Like to create a hub of shared inspiration. Somewhere to honour other knights.
A hub of artwork, personal triumph & the best examples to young people. A place where we can lean on one another in moments of doubt & weakness.
I’d like a community where we don’t need to fake the positive in order to impress, to praise on individual merit.
Let's raise others up instead of putting them down.
A quick example of this in action:

What does this all mean?
A Knight Of Lenity is an honorary title in many respects - at the same time however the principles are very real.
Everyday young people see celebrities achieve remarkable things. Often however the fame & success is a one in a million opportunity or it is false advertising.
A child may never be a famous football player or singer but they can grow up to be caring, compassionate individuals - which in itself is a success.
But do they aspire to be?
We are chasing after so many simple things such as promotion/popularity/ ideal weight that life becomes a race in which we are always competing for another prize.
I'd like to highlight to children, teens & some adults that in truth - some days you win & some days you lose.
There is always something out there in the world & you can have an impact!
About Me: Ian- Anthony Finnimore
I am a former charity worker from England.
Even more so now as a parent - I advocate the concept of Lenity - a belief system where personal responsibility is of the highest importance.
I have always felt that regular prayer or worship does not therefore grant a free pass to selfishness or bias.
A person may well be a "good" christian for example but they complete this process much like learning dance moves. Yet they often fail to stop judging others or even worse begin to dictate how they believe others should behave.
Lenity reminds us to be the best versions of ourselves without it being out of touch with our modern lives.
I am a student of Islam, Christianity, Taoism & Wicca amongst others but I still believe Lenity to be a vital component lacking in our daily lives regardless of any core faith & values.
