"BETTER THAN CHRISTMAS DAY" ....this was the how one Newtown teen described his 1st PeaceJam experience that his mother forced him to have.
Last April, we provided scholarships for Newtown teens to attend the annual Spring Peace Jam event at UCONN, where they networked with kids from all
over New England as well as Nobel Peace laureates - an opportunity that helped them start to heal and channel their pain in healthy ways. The kids came back from this event changed for the better. They were inspired, and more importantly, they inspired others,
and have been working together to transform tragedy ever since. Please read about it here: http://www.newtownbee.com/news/education/2013/04/18/high-school-students-say-peacejam-was-life-changin/129725
This year, PeaceJam will take place March 15-16th. We'd like to help Newtown teens continue on their transformational path and attend again. We'd also like to invite
teens from Bridgeport, Hartford, Norwalk and other communitiies who live under the shadow of gun violence, and help inspire and empower them to transform tragedies into positive action.
All of the funds we raise will provide scholarships to enable teens to attend this event. You can check out this year's event here:

"Healing begins by opening up to one another"
Please watch the video from last year's PeaceJam experience above. The Newtown kids appear throughout, but you can hear some of them speak, and share a little of what we helped them to experience,
starting at about the four-minute mark. You can also watch it by clicking here: .
These kids attended this expecting to be inspired by the experience at PeaceJam….little did they know that THEY would be the ones doing the inspiring!
"Inspiration Personified!"
View this Rachel Maddow interview to see an example of how PeaceJam has inspired one of our teens, and imagine the goodness that would result, if together we helped others like Sarah transform
their fears, frustrations and anger, into positive action:
