About This Project

With 1 in 8 people experiencing some form of homelessness in their lifetime, it's a problem that's not as uncommon as you might think.



When you buy hoodies online from Hood Lyf, we donate 10% of the purchase price to your choice of our homelessness charity partners.

As you can most likely tell, we're passionate about helping people who face the challenges of homelessness. Considering that over 105,000 Australians are affected right now, it's a problem we should all be helping to solve.

We've decided that for every purchase made on Hood Lyf, we will donate 10% to one of the following causes:

This is only the beginning for Hood Lyf and although we're small, we're determined to hustle our way to making a real difference. We will also be regularly adding new charity options at the request of our supports through polls on social media.



Hood Lyf was created by me, Joshua Marriage. I'm originally from from a small town of 3,000 people and now live in Sydney's southern suburbs.

HOW DO I GET MY REWARD?

Every supporter will be emailed a special coupon that can be used on our Shopify store. This will get them a store credit matching the reward they've chosen. That way you can simply browse our store at your leisure and make your selection. As an added bonus, everyone gets a members only 10% OFF coupon code that's valid for life!

Use Of Funds

$25,000 Tipping Point Goal

We want to get our first 500 raving fans to help spread awareness by rocking our badass hoodies.

Help the homeless in your hood by sparking conversations about homelessness (you'll get plenty of attention with our LOUD designs) while we take the next steps in reaching a broader audience. At the end of the month, we'll make our first donations to the causes of your choosing, just in time for your made-to-order hoodie to land on your doorstep.

Hoodies for you = Goodies for the homeless

Upon reaching our goal, as a tribute to all of our supporters, I will spend 24 hours in Martin Place (Sydney CBD) wearing nothing but a hoodie (one big enough to avoid my arrest) in the middle of winter.

The entire event will be streamed live on Facebook and YouTube. I'll keep myself busy by sharing homelessness statistics with everyday Australians. Come nightfall, I'll have meaningful conversations with those roughing it on the streets of Sydney.

This will be my way of finding out what matters most to the people facing the challenges of homelessness. From there, I'll be well equipped to steer Hood Lyf in the direction that has the greatest impact!

Funds from the Tipping Point goal will be used for the following:

  • Fulfill all orders promised as part of the rewards (we're fully operational and ready to go)
  • Contribute 10% directly to our selected homelessness causes (supporters choose)
  • Launch national marketing campaign to amplify the impact of our beloved supporters
  • Enrol into a social enterprise accelerator program and seek the best possible mentorship

$40,000 Stretch Goal

We will commission designs by indigenous artists in remote communities and create a range of hoodies showcasing their work. Each artist will nominate a cause they are passionate about and ALL profits generated by their collection, will go to the organisation of their choosing.

Let's celebrate the culture of Australia's First Peoples, the original custodians of this place we are so fortunate to call home.

Additional Stretch Goal funds will be used for the following:

  • Engage with local indigenous organisations to find great indigenous artists who could use a platform to share their artwork
  • Pay artists directly to commission a custom artwork for new hoodie designs
  • Discuss which local community organisation they want to support
  • Get the designs print ready and load up the manufacturer ready for launch
  • Incorporate new designs into national marketing campaign and go live!
