With 2.5 billion people lacking adequate sanitation and the porta-potty being synonymous with medieval torture chambers,
sanitation is in crisis. Sanitation Creations has developed an odorless, waterless portable toilet system by using a device that can bring sanitation into the 21st century.
This system, the Dungaroo, can fit into existing porta-potties or be housed in its own unit. The waste from the user is collected in bags lined with a chemical compound that kills pathogens. The user presses a foot lever that releases the bag into a larger
containment bag where there would ordinarily be a water tank. The larger containment bag is collected by a waste disposal affiliate and delivered to an energy company that creates biofuel out of the filled bags.
This is where we need your help: we need funds to further develop the bag collection process and the method for turning waste to energy using the filled bags.
$3,000 Tipping Point Goal
The funds will be used for the research and development of the bag collection process and the method for turning waste to energy using the filled bags.
The R&D process will include:
·Consultation with energy experts on bio-fuel
·Determining the correct method of disposal to minimize harm to the environment and capture the optimal amount of methane for energy production
·Determining the best way to collect the filled bags from rental companies
·Creating the models for community versions of the disposal process for developing countries
·Creating the marketing strategy to ensure bags are returned and not disposed of in a landfill.
Sanitation Creations is a company that was started with very little contributed capital. To date, the team has accurately budgeted projects with very little deviation from the target budget. Our tipping point goal of $3,000 will allow the team to consult
with energy experts who will help the company design a model for the waste to energy system. While we feel that we can complete the R & D waste to energy process over the course of a year, your contributions will help expedite the completion of this much needed
research in order to complete our goal – turning waste matter into biofuel.
