Did you know that more than 50% of the world’s population is under 25 years of age? This is the generation that is coming of age at one of the most critical moments in history.
Generation Waking Up (GenUp) is a global initiative whose purpose is to ignite a generation of young people to bring forth a thriving, just, sustainable world. GenUp provides young people with the opportunity
to make a positive contribution at their schools, amongst their peers, and in their communities. You can learn more by watching the video at the bottom of the screen.
The Melbourne Training. To be an effective, transformational leader takes skills, which we believe are best developed in a group learning environment. In Melbourne, Australia, from 9th to 13th January 2013, there will be a
special 4.5 day Residential GenUp Leadership Training for young people and their adult allies. The Training will unleash groups of young people from all over Australia to bring Generation Waking Up to their schools, universities, communities, and organisations.
At a practical level, participants will gain the knowledge, tools, and skills to facilitate and support
the Wake Up Experience, a powerful 2-3 hour interactive, multimedia workshop that ignites young people into inspired action. The Training will be a profoundly transformational experience, providing youth people with a deep connection to themselves, each
other, and the world they are inheriting.
The Trainers.
This Training will be led by two extraordinary leaders visiting from the United States - Joshua Gorman, the founder and Coordinator of Generation Waking Up, and Cherine Badawi, the Curriculum and Training Coordinator of Generation Waking Up. It will also
be led by Darcie Jordan, an amazing young leader and the Coordinator of Generation Waking Up Australia, who speaks on the campaign video above. To hear Joshua and Cherine talk about the Melbourne Training,
