What are we doing?
FLPOC is an all-inclusive organization, with a special focus on communities of color. We aim to educate communities of color on financial literacy via workshops, free online financial tools and training. We require that all who are interested in receiving free financial services such as credit repair, attend one of our workshops. Following the workshop, attendees will be eligible to receive additional financial services, including but not limited to, credit repair, tax preparation, financial advisors, business coaching and more! Our goal is to help our recipeints create financial freedom and build generational wealth by providing the proper educational tools to change and prevent unhealthy financial behaviors.
Why are we doing it?
With our organization, our mission is to dive deeper into the unhealthy relationship our communities tend to have with money. As a short term goal, we want to teach our communities how to be cheerful givers, how to properly budget, save and invest with low-risk. Our long term goal is to help at least 100 people save $5,000 in emergency funds, help more people in the community acquire assets and start businesses. Subsequently, we hope to provide better opportunity in lower income areas to lower stress and even deter possibilities of illegal activities due to financial strain.
Our team:
My name is Taylur. I am the Executive Director for Financial Literacy for People of Color. I have 10 years of business experience managing the financials of business accounts. My education stems from my Masters degree Business Administration. Additionally, I have 5 years of Law Enforcement experience where I presently still serve. I believe proper financial education and services in lower income communities would even alleviate some levels of crime. I am a successful business owner of Mayweather Boxing and Fitness gym in Torrance, CA. I am also a successful and experienced real estate investor. I am passionate about teaching others how to be financially happy and I want to help as many people as I can achieve this goal. Our team has undergone our financial workshop and have spent a lot of time dissecting and ensuring the curriculum being taught is the best for our communities to understand and learn from. Combined we have over 50 years of financial and non-profit education and are excited and enthused to remain organized in our efforts to grow each year.
