Advocates
for World Health (AWH) is a 501(c)3 not-for-profit that
recovers surplus medical products (e.g.,
bandages, syringes, beds, X-ray machines, gloves, etc.) and
distributes them to
relief agencies working in developing nations, thus assisting
underserved patients and reducing medical waste.
AWH
mitigates against directing large amounts of unused medical
products into landfills and incinerators while also supporting
better access to healthcare to patients in impoverished
communities abroad.
Since 2009, AWH has shipped 80,000+ lbs of supplies valued at $1.6 million to Guatemala, Haiti, and the Dominican Republic.
We have organized 6 medical aid trips to Guatemala to better understand how we can serve Guatemalan patients. On our last trip in March 2012, over 20 volunteers visited and 1,250 patients were served.

We are at a bottleneck with operational capacity to fill the growing stack of orders for life-saving medical product!
AWH is the only medical supply redistribution organization headquartered in Florida, where there is an especially high density of healthcare
providers. Over 7,000 tons of still-useful medical products are trashed in South Florida alone each year.
For the past three years, AWH has provided an invaluable social service.
We now mantain 4 full-time staff and 1 part-time staff as well as a 20 ft. box truck and a large commerical warehouse space.
AWH sustains partially from relief agency sponsorships of medical product shipments. However, AWH fundraises to continue operations
and expand the organization.
We need additional funding to expand and maintain our operations (warehouse, inventory, and trucking).

warehouse, inventory, and trucking costs for
