Creating for Change is a week-long pop-up event and creative space for the Brisbane community to explore the role of art and creative communication tools to create a better world. The event will feature an interactive design exhibit, with activities that help participants understand our 5 key creative methodologies for creating change; storytelling, storymaking, systems-thinking, design-thinking, and theory of change.
Some of these free activities include ‘Postcards for Peace,’ sustainable future building using LEGO Serious Play, storytelling workshops, and Art for Change.
There will also be a program of paid workshops for those who are passionate about addressing a local or global challenge and want to learn the 5 creative communication methods and implement them in their own work.
Creating for Change is organised by the Humanitarian Changemakers Network, a Brisbane-based social enterprise that equips and empowers young people to take action to change the world. We have run workshops for primary and secondary schools across Brisbane, and partnered with local and global organisations like the QLD Red Cross, Amnesty International, and Thought for Food. As our impact and network continues to grow, we would like to encourage more people to “think globally, act locally, and explore using art and creative communication methods to co-create a peaceful and sustainable future.
