The scenes of runners lying on the ground following the horrific bombing that occurred at the Boston Marathon this year are indelible. So, too, are the stories of other runners who, after completing a monumental 26.2
mile run, continued running directly to a hospital to donate blood.
Inspired by the tenacity of these runners, the Challenged Athletes Foundation, in a project jointly conceived with StartSomeGood, is raising funds to help injured athletes get running again.

The Projects
The funds raised will go towards helping injured runners continue to compete in the sport they love. The funds raised will give an amputee a running blade -- a prosthetic specifically designed for use in athletic contests.
And there are other events to help the larger community of challenged athletes. These events will enable athletes to connect with one another over shared challenges and provide an opportunity to continue competing and excelling.
Be a Helper
"When I was a boy and I would see scary things in the news, my mother would say to me, “Look for the helpers. You will always find people who are helping.” To this day, especially in times of “disaster,” I remember
my mother’s words and I am always comforted by realizing that there are still so many helpers – so many caring people in this world."

This campaign is an expression of everyone’s ability to come together at times of struggle to create tremendous good out of tremendous bad. This campaign is for the injured runners, it's for Bostonians, and it's for all
of us to contribute to something bigger than ourselves.
It's our chance to be helpers. Please join us!
