With your support Abundant Water can offer a solution for Lao villagers to break the cycle of disease, illness and poverty caused by water-borne diseases.
Abundant Water is a ‘not-for-profit’ humanitarian development organisation sharing the innovation of clay pot water filters with potters in Lao and elsewhere.
These simple ceramic water filters are made from natural materials using traditional techniques and are able to eliminate waterborne diseases such as dysentery, gastro-enteritis, cholera and typhoid that are endemic to many rural villages.
This approach transfers knowledge and expertise and develops local capability and ownership. Abundant Water plans to train potters from 8 pilot villages in Lao in technology and micro-financed business.
Abundant Water is developing a model for the propagation of low-cost programs enabling anyone anywhere to access the clay-pot water filter technology if they need clean drinking water.
Your Donation
$2300 will enable us to provide villagers with 100 filters, which will be installed in 100 households. This will give 100 families access to clean drinking water.
Not only this, but the installation of 100 filters will have a remarkable flow on effect. Other households in that village will have a chance to see the filter and express an interest in aquiring one for their own famiy. If enough people
express an interest, there may be enough need for a potter in this community to make the filters locally.
Your contribution will allow us to take an important step in enabling village residents in Ban Na Dua to have access to clean drinking water and giving them the knowledge to continue filtering water long after we're gone.
Thank you!!!
