nutreats aspires to be a supplier and distributor of great-tasting fortified snack bars that will reduce malnutrition among children in Africa. We'll be as effective as an ice cream truck at regularly reaching kids with a product they really want - but one
that also provides key micronutrients for proper mental and physical development. When we reach scale, we'll make a signifcant reduction in the rampant problem of malnutrition.
We're an early-stage venture whose next major step is developing the specific formula for our bar. But first we need to make sure we understand what kids in Africa want from a snack - what flavor profiles and formats will work the best in this context? Understanding
these needs is critical to our venture's success, and to do this we need to purchase prototypes of the bars to test in the market.
The prototypes will be purchased from YouBar in four varieties. We will survey consumers to ascertain their preferences along several dimensions: flavor (fruity, chocolatey, or nutty), texture (chewy or crunchy), preferred purchase location, and appropriate
price point. Once we know what type of bar has the best chance of success, we can provide an ideal profile to a food science lab, and have them develop a fortified version.
