A People whose Voice is not being heard in just one contaminated groundwater situation;
Ohlone Woman in this state of distress gets buzzed (literally) by one little hummingbird who will not leave until she
gets that there is something powerful and empowering to be done about the Water, and that women have a central role to play in what will be an utterly transformational Journey. This epiphany was duly recognized by her elders and ultimately
instituted 1000 Hummingbirds Women's Council, to host initially, 4 consecutive years of women and girls coming together for Water.
And so the women and girls come, bringing their cross-cultural, inter-generational
wisdom. In this extraordinary milieu, of story, song and dreaming, something is born anew.
